The Evolving Role of Academia: Universities in a Changing Landscape
Higher education institutions are experiencing substantial transformations in the contemporary era. The different frameworks of universities within the participants’ countries are undergoing modifications, which consequently impact teaching and research. Drawing upon a broad array of backgrounds and national educational traditions, the presenters will provide insights into their respective contexts and identify significant questions to articulate the potential new role of academia amidst changing circumstances.
Jorge Troisi-Melean
Jorge is a professor at Universidad Nacional de La Plata, Argentina. He earned his Ph.D. from Emory University and has published on global history in Europe and the Americas. His current book project: Paint Your Village, and You’ll Paint the Whole World: La Plata Between Local and Global History (1882–1957).
Anselm Bohmer
Anselm earned a Doctorate from the University of Education in Freiburg, Germany, in 2001, focusing on his dissertation on the philosophy of education. His upcoming book, set to release this month, addresses social disproportion in education. He also conducted research in areas like Global Education, Culturality, and GenAI in Education
